While walking around Vienna or most other large cities, you pass churches constantly, and eventually I think I just sort of assume they're all roughly the same and they all tend to blend together in my mind (not that they aren't all gorgeous and I don't like seeing them, but I don't always go out of my way to stop inside). This church is just tucked away in a little corner of the inner city, so we thought we would go in and check it out.
I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but the inside of this church is huge and ornate and really really beautiful. Of course pictures don't really capture these buildings well, but I tried...
The columns alternated between straight and sort of curly like these.
Looking straight up.
I suppose I've learned my lesson that when I have a couple extra minutes and find myself around some of these buildings, I should take the time to step in and see what's inside.
Happy Friday!

What is the name of this church? The outside looks familiar.
