After a fantastic summer back home, filled with many celebrations of holidays, birthdays, new babies, and all sorts of other reasons to party, I'm now back in Vienna! I loved every second of being home, but I was also very excited to get back here and get back into my normal schedule of things. After a day of traveling, I decided to head downtown and take a walk through the city Sunday night and stretch my legs.
The sunlight and shadows make it look like these spotlights were designed for these statues
Monday I tried to get a few administrative things taken care of, going through mail and registering for classes for the semester and things like that. Also, when I got back to my apartment my refrigerator was warm, and wouldn't get cold again no matter what setting I put it on or how many times I unplugged it...so I called my building and they sent someone to look at it. He basically took a heat gun and confirmed that yes, your fridge shouldn't be 28 degrees celsius inside, and that yes, it is broken...he had no real idea of when it would be fixed, so for now I'm just being creative with my grocery shopping.
Now that I had successfully registered for classes, I wanted to go through and put all the dates and times into my planner, but rather than sit at my desk in my room and do that, I decided to go up to Kahlenberg and have some coffee and watch the sunset over the city while filling in my planner...excellent choice.
Today I had some more errands to run, all of which went rather smoothly which was much better than I had expected. It's still pretty warm here, highs in the mid-80s and sunny, so I'm also trying to enjoy this last burst of summer before fall comes.
Warm weather means it is totally acceptable to have frozen yogurt and fruit for lunch while sitting in a perfectly manicured Imperial Garden...don't mind if I do.
I'm so happy to be back, and really glad the weather seems to be cooperating at the moment. It is supposed to get cooler this week, which I'm also excited about...according to the 10 day forecast today is the last really warm day for a while, and I'm ready for fall!
