Gorgeous Saturday

Today has been a beautiful sunny day.  Just about 50 degrees with a warm sun, so I was glad to be able to get out some today and enjoy the weather.  This morning I went to the store that sells office/school supplies to get notebooks and pens and highlighters and things for school.  I also picked up things like scissors, tape, and tacks; things that are generally good to have around.  I restrained myself today, but this store also sells crafty things: canvases, paint, picture frames, markers, etc., which is really good to know...or really bad for my budget...but oh well.  I may be back there to get a couple canvases or something to make things to hang on my walls, which are sadly very blank still.

I was disciplined enough to come back here after that errand and knock out some more reading that needs to be done for classes I have Monday and Tuesday, but I decided that I would read a certain amount and then force myself to get out of the house since it may rain tomorrow and Monday.  I decided to start this afternoon down by Belvedere Palace, which I hadn't yet been to.  It's sort of the opposite side of downtown to where my house is, so I figured I'd take public transportation down there and then wander my way back towards home.
Upper Belvedere

The view over the gardens past Lower Belvedere towards the inner city of Vienna.  That's the spire of St. Stephen's Cathedral and up on the mountain just to the left of that you can see school!

Lower Belvedere, which is also an art museum

I wandered back from here back around the Ring and past the Opera House into the inner city a bit, then out through the Hofburg and around the Ring again to catch my tram back home.  I was wandering as all the clocks hit 6pm and all the church bells starting ringing around me, definitely another sound I won't quickly get tired of.
